Review: Max Factor Eye Studio

My first Voxbox!

I was immensely delighted to receive my complimentary Voxbox from Influensterme filled with Max Factor goodies. I literally enjoyed each and every product that came along.

Max Factor Colour X-pert Eyeliner: I get a bit nervous while using liquid eye liners but with this product, it made the application much easier. The wand is quite thin, which makes the product slide delicately on the lids. It also made it easier for me create winged eyes with it.
Max Factor brow contouring kit: this is probably my favorite product from the voxbox. It has a stunning pigment that make your eye brows look natural and fuller at the same time. Sadly, the lightest shade was quite damaged when I unboxed it, which definitely made me upset. But, due to its stunning result, it was fun using the product.

Max Factor brow shaper: the shade was slightly intense for my brows but with its dual purpose, the pigment on one end and the brush on the other made the application easier.

Max Factor Voluptuous False Lash Effect Mascara: can you believe it that I’ve never worn false lashes in my entire life? Though I’ve always wanted to wear one! Honestly, after using this mascara on the lashes, who even needs false lashes?

Max Factor Masterpiece Nude eyeshadow Palettes: these were definitely my second most favorite products from the voxbox. The payoff is stunning with a smooth finishing. Loved the glittery shades a lot.

Overall, I would recommend these products to every beauty enthusiast out there. If you’re looking for perfect nude eye makeup both for day and night, you can definitely reach out for this stunning collection.

I would like to thank Influenster for giving me an opportunity to try and review these stunning products.

Knock down your failures

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts"
- Winston Churchill

You’re working tremendously hard to achieve that one dream of your life. You’re pushing yourself through the obstacles that are preventing you from sparkling. You know that this one-last step will get you up to the place where you always wished to reach. And BOOOOM. You fall to the ground, marking yet another failure of your life. This disillusion thing that you call life is all about letdowns; you think to yourself.

But does that mean you give up on your dreams?

Absolutely not. Failures are part of life, so are successes. Nobody on earth like failures neither do I. But you know what? Possibly, the only nice thing about failures is that they motivate you to stand up again and kick through those loses. Not just learn how/why you’ve lost but to push them away from you and get back on track.

Don’t make your failures become an obstacle between you and your future. Never let your loses takeover your hidden strengths. Rather consider them as your strengths and motivational factors to stand up again after each fall. If not today, someday you will reach that stage of your life where you always wished to be. So each hurdle you knock down, the closer you get to your desired destination. Achieve your dreams and never give up no matter how forcefully you are been constricted.

"She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts but because she continued on despite them" - Beau Taplin

You've gotta take that single step

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step" - Lao Tzu

When walking to work each morning, I come across these beautifully inspiring words. They leave me battling with my strengths and weaknesses at the same time. They leave me with the determination of keep moving forth without having to pause even for a single second. But deep down in me, my standard human nature feeds me with the negative consequences of each step I take. After skimming through these words, one side of my brain is fearless of brightening my dreams but the other half is pulling me backwards to stop succeeding. Don't we all have those 'urmmmmm' moments?

Hopelessness and despair at times become our companions but only for a limited time. With each step, we seem to get pulled back by some sort of gravitational force leaving us with anguish. But this is where the real challenge begins. It's the demon that's making you back off, constraining you from succeeding and shining like a star. Don't feel shattered because it's really not worth it. You've gotta stand and keep yourself steady. In order to cover that thousand miles journey you've gotta take that single step. It definitely wouldn't be an easy move but in order to achieve something you've gotta keep moving.

We dream of success, health, wealth and a lot more. These are the things that we don't get overnight; it requires immense amount of effort, strength and hard work. It's more like a ladder that you keep climbing and as you are rising higher, there are likely to be more chances of falling back due to the fear of height. So with each step you take, you're surrounded with fears, risks and challenges. But remember, you've gotta keep moving.

No life phase stays the same

It is a complex mixture of emotions, experiences and lessons, which are blended along with thorns and soft petals. It is an exceptionally unpredictable ride that takes you through the bottom of the oceans to the top of the skies. It is a frightening yet electrifying experience from birth to death and I call it: life.

Life is a beautiful journey that is filled with endless broken and smooth paths. What astonishes me the most about this word ‘life’ is that it makes us experience so much in this world from the happiest moments to the saddest times; from birth of a child to death of a loved one; from encountering the meanest to the nicest individuals; from attaining a degree from one of the region’s best universities to losing your dream job; from bringing a smile on the innocent’s face to sacrificing your greatest dreams; from being a millionaire to a bankrupt; from being pure to a sinner; and I guess the list continues.

"Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that
smiles the  clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray."
- Lord Byron
At some point, life may seem like a bitter reality loaded with a baggage full of sheer nonsense. That’s when you want to give up on everything and isolate yourself from the world. Everything that you do will get seemingly impossible and you will see constraints in every step you take. This ferocious stage may last a day, a year or even a lifetime.

But remember one thing, god is always kind to his people. If there is darkness in your life today then prepare yourself for tomorrow's brightness. The gloominess around you may gradually turn into something beautiful someday; if not today but someday soon.

It’s amazing how that dimness in life brings back better days in a gradual process. You will then sit back someday, relaxed, calmed and collected; satisfied with that terrifying experience of your life that left you with lessons. It is incredible to think what all you get to experience in this four letter word (l-i-f-e) in numerous ways.

My grandma always says: no matter what every phase in life passes and nothing stays the same. The relationships, achievements, losses, happiness, sadness nothing remains constant. So keep yourself strong because today's storm is tomorrow's peace and today's nightmare is tomorrow's beautiful dream.

Lessons learnt during university life

There are countless phases in life and attaining a university degree is certainly one of them. So I thought of sharing four of the many influential and life-changing lessons that I learnt in the past four years!

  1. Not everyone is the same! In my university I came across so many people with diverse backgrounds and lifestyles. Some too polite while others too scornful; some too proud while others too decent; some exceptionally well-off while others struggling to pay off their university debts. As I walked through this journey, I definitely learnt that not every soul is the same. No matter how similar your background is, you can never be like the other person; even if you want to, you can’t. That’s the beauty of being ‘just you.’ I found people to be more privileged than me in countless ways but again I also met people who were so unfortunate to be having to lose their mother in an early age. I learnt the essence of my existence, which lied in the very fact of me accepting the sole person I am with irreplaceable instincts.
  2. To be responsible. Trust me, studying and working at the same time isn’t an easy task. It requires tremendous amount of courage and determination. When you choose to work during this very phase of your life you experience that struggle of coping with study load, especially during stressful days, to being on time for every shift to submitting your assignments before deadlines to being professional in front of your work supervisors. I learnt to be responsible not just in my classroom but in my workplace too.
  3. Choose friends wisely! Your friends will always remain your support system in every walk of your life and this includes your traumatic university moments too. My friends have always been there for me when I was overshadowed in the midst of sadness to my boastfully proud moments.  They’ve mentally motivated me and helped me overcome my fears. Having a strong support system is as important as having to excel in anything that adds to your success! So choose your friends wisely!
  4. Work in groups! Teamwork has taught me entirely contradicting things: either you learn how people treat you collectively or how you respond to members’ comments/criticisms. Honestly, working in a team brings out the members’ true nature, which is mostly their super negative bossy and malevolent side. And with that you learn to be tolerant towards their harsh criticisms and pointless contributions. Teamwork prepares you for real-life where you work as a group in a professional environment.
Once upon a time, this was me.

Top 10 reasons for me to love UAE:

  1. It’s a Muslim land: the mosques here are magnificent!
  2. The shopping malls here made me an extravagant shopper.
  3. Almost all the restaurants you walk into offer delicious food. Oh, I’ve definitely fallen for their chicken mandi (basically, it is made of rice, meat and spices). Shawarma is another mouth-watering food here.
  4. The tallest building in the world is here so what more reasons do you want in order to love UAE? It surely is a must-visit-place.
  5. Yes, I’m a desert fan. Long drives during the weekends on the never ending highways with desert plains on either side give a peaceful feeling.
  6. Celebrations of any sort are, indeed, exhilarating. Amusement during the National Days and New Years are a great time here.
  7.  UAE is exceptionally multicultural. It is common to come across people from all corners of the world.
  8. UAE is home to many tourist destinations. Palm Jumeirah is one of the top ones.
  9. UAE has mountains too! Jabel Hafeet is a natural beauty!
  10. I love winters in this part of the world!
UAE is a beauty!

It’s a chaos

Everything seems so imprecise and vague. Is it the biased media or the prejudiced politicians or merely the disturbed citizens who are to be blamed for the current disorder in Islamabad, Pakistan?

Is it simply the political disturbance, which Pakistan is encountering? No, it involves something more massive than this. The current economic situation, the international position and the disruptive national security is at stake.

It’s a high time that the government makes a final agreement rather than keep delaying it. We know and they themselves know how corrupted the entire political system is in Pakistan. Instead of hiding themselves inside their lavish resort-like palaces; instead of driving around in their expensive cars with a great protocol; instead of adoring all sort of unnecessary luxuries through the use of taxes that has been paid by the citizens, these corrupted politicians should stop it all here.

The admirers of such charlatans should know their real faces. They shouldn’t fear anybody instead walk towards the path of truth and practicality. I am not claiming that it has to be Imran Khan on the president’s seat within the next few days rather I’d certainly say, “GIVE HIM A TRY!”

However, the country is facing a great downfall in every sense and if Imran Khan gets the place, it’ll take another year or so to stabilize the current disruptive situation. Therefore, giving Imran Khan a chance to show his democratic leadership won’t be an improper idea. It’s not guaranteed that Imran Khan can successfully alter the anarchy and introduce a more peaceful and a democratic nation but we should give him a try anyway.

With due respect, President Nawaz Shareef shouldn’t stay stubborn with his presidency. He himself has been elected through unfair elections. He should let go his pride and act more sensibly. Because it’s not only about being “President Nawaz Shareef” rather it’s about the lives of millions of people.

Bring a better change!
